Important Points
Who can participate in Takaful Rumahku?
A participant of Takaful Rumahku must be a legal owner of the covered property.
Contribution
The contribution you pay for your Takaful Rumahku will depend on the classification of the occupation of the premises and construction of the building. On top of the contribution, you need to pay for the stamp duty of the certificate which is RM10 currently and if the participant is a company , Service Tax at 5% of the contribution.
Coverage Term
Takaful Rumahku is a yearly renewable term product.
Surplus Sharing
One unique feature of Takaful is the sharing of net surplus from the Takaful operation. You are entitled to a share of the surplus (if any) as long as you have not made a claim during the period of Takaful.
The surplus will be allocated to you by providing a rebate when you renew your coverage for Takaful Rumahku. The basis of the rebate will be determined by PruBSN in an equitable way.
If the surplus for a particular year is more than your renewal contribution, the excess rebate (on top of the renewal contribution), will be aggregated and donated to charitable organisations.
Your Duty of Disclosure
You are required to complete the proposal form fully and completely when signing up for a Takaful cover. You should disclose fully all material facts, e.g. any previous claims, occupation, type of construction of your building, etc. When in doubt as to whether a fact is relevant or not, it is best to ask your intermediary. If you fail to disclose any material fact, your claim may not be payable.
Certificate Document
Please contact us if you have not received the certificate after one month of the payment of the contribution.
Is There Any Compulsory Excess Imposed?
Excesses, being the first amounts you have to bear before we pay you, are applicable for certain perils, such as for overflowing of domestic water tanks, windstorm, earthquake and flood claims.
What Should You Do in the Event of Damage/Loss?
Notify Us as Soon as Possible
You must notify us in writing with full details as soon as possible. Early notification is required to avoid any prejudice to your claim. If theft, malicious damage or vandalism occurs, make a police report immediately.
Loss Mitigating Measures
You must take the necessary measures to mitigate further loss/worsening of the situation.
If temporary repairs are required to stop further damage, you should ensure that these are carried out immediately and the bills of work carried out should be kept as part of your claim. If the repairs required are of a permanent nature, you should obtain estimates of the repairs required and send them to us for approval before commencing work.
