Following the worst-ever flood in Malaysia’s East Coast in 2014, PruBSN with the support of our Regional Office charity investment arm, Prudence Foundation, and other Prudential business units in Malaysia had gathered its efforts toward the Kelantan Relief & Rebuilding Mission.

More than MYR2 million was channeled towards the immediate relief in the severely hit and remote Kampung Serasa, located in Dabong, Kelantan. Each week, 120 volunteers from our staff force, staff from other Prudential business units across Asia as well as the local public spent a substantial amount of hours to build homes for the victims.

The homes were specifically designed to withstand harsh weather conditions. At the foundation of every home is the mega anchor piling which keeps it sturdy to endure natural disasters. Another unique feature of the home is its eco-friendliness as it uses rainwater harvesting system to provide for drinking, cooking, laundry and landscape irrigation. Each of the two-storey houses is equipped with three bedrooms, a toilet, a kitchen and a lounge within a 780 square feet area.

Included in this overall commitment is the 100% matching of all contributions by our employees and agents, as a way to promote the spirit of giving and doubling our impact towards those in need.
