PruBSN distributes zakat fund to IIUM's high achieving underprivileged students

In its aim to build more sustainable and resilient communities, PruBSN has disbursed RM176,000 from its Zakat and Welfare Funds for the academic sponsorship of 160 less privileged students from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). The cheque was presented by PruBSN’s Chief Executive Officer, Encik Azim Mithani, to IIUM’s Deputy Rector of Student Affairs, Professor Dato’ Dr. Mizan Hitam, in a handover ceremony at the Menara Prudential auditorium.

The recipients consisted of students who are currently pursuing their studies at the IIUM’s Ahmad Ibrahim Kuliyyah of Laws, Kuliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, Kuliyyah of Economics and Managements Sciences as well as Education. In order to qualify as a recipient, the student must possess an excellent academic background, not receiving other financing aid and come from the lower income group families.
