PruBSN CEO Wins Takaful CEO of the Year

Kuala Lumpur, 3 July 2013PruBSN is proud to announce that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Encik Azim Mithani, today won The Asset Takaful CEO of the Year Award under the Industry Leadership Awards category. This accolade which was conferred to him was in recognition for his contribution to the development of the takaful industry in Malaysia through the various initiatives and product innovations and in driving the success of PruBSN. The award ceremony was held at the InterContinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

Encik Azim, who has been in the Insurance and Takaful industry for over 21 years, views the award as recognition of the hard work, dedication and commitment of his colleagues and agents at PruBSN. Commenting on this award he said, “Alhamdulillah, this award is an honour for me. However, more than anything, this award is a testament to our staff, agents and partners and all the good work we do as a Company to meet the financial needs of Malaysians. We protect and serve nearly 2% of the total Malaysian population. Our focus is completely on our customers and my job is making sure that all that we do is geared towards that and meeting their needs.”

The Asset magazine also said that it was commendable that while driving the Prudential BSN Takaful operation, Encik Azim is an advocate for professionalism of agents and ensures that a high standard of corporate and Shariah governance framework is maintained within the Company.

Under his stewardship, PruBSN has seen rapid growth and success with a number of notable firsts in the industry ranging from products to customer solutions. The company has been the leading Takaful Operator for two successive years in 2011 and 2012.

"We will continue to drive PruBSN further by focusing on our key strategies, driving professionalism in distribution and forging ahead with even stronger customer propositions,” says Encik Azim.

The Asset Triple A Awards 2013: Islamic Finance is hosted by The Asset Magazine, a publishing house and research group based in Hong Kong. This international award honours Shariah-compliant financial institutions and leaders across the globe in various categories and is a key feature in the Islamic Finance’s event calendar.
